Piano Lessons
Develop the skills to play music with understanding and expression.
Piano lessons combine technique, reading, rhythm and musical expression with pieces suited to the student’s level and interests. Beginners build their foundations step by step, while continuing students work on their next challenges and develop effective practice habits.
Explore classical pieces, contemporary music and familiar favourites, with support for AMEB examinations and performances for students who wish to pursue them.
Singing Lessons
Get to know your voice and become more comfortable using it.
Singing lessons explore breathing, pitch, tone, vocal coordination and expression through exercises and songs selected for your voice. Repertoire can include classical music, musical theatre, contemporary songs and jazz.
Whether you enjoy singing for yourself or are preparing for an audition, examination or performance, lessons give you individual guidance and time to develop your skills.
Meet Rada Tochalna
I’m Rada, a piano and singing teacher and professional soprano. My own musical training began at the piano, and I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Music Performance at Zurich University of the Arts.
My teaching brings together experience in music education and performance across Australia and Europe. I value clear explanations, thoughtful repertoire choices and an encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying something new.
We work on the skills each student needs, with practical guidance for learning between lessons. My aim is to help students become increasingly independent musicians who understand and enjoy the music they make.
What Students and Families Say

— Tania Snook Villa-Lobos, parent
“My lessons have been really enjoyable…”
— Patric, adult piano student
“The lessons are relaxed and fun.”
— Davita Coronel, singing student
Sharing Music and Celebrating Progress
Learning a piece is also an opportunity to explore how to communicate through music.
Student concerts and performance opportunities give learners a chance to prepare, share their progress and gain experience performing for others. Each student’s goals and readiness help guide their participation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do beginners need previous musical experience?
No previous experience is needed. We begin with manageable activities and build skills gradually, with explanations and repertoire suited to the student.
Do you teach adults?
Yes. Adult beginners and returning learners are welcome. Lessons can support your personal interests, whether you want to learn favourite music, improve your skills or feel more comfortable playing or singing.
Are examinations compulsory?
Examinations are optional. I offer preparation for students working towards AMEB and other musical goals, while also welcoming those who wish to learn for enjoyment and personal progress.
Should I choose a 30-minute or 60-minute lesson?
The appropriate length depends on the student’s age, experience and goals. A 30-minute lesson can be a suitable starting point, while an hour allows more time for repertoire, technique and supporting musical skills. I can help you choose.
Can my child start during the school year?
New students are welcome throughout the year, subject to available lesson times. Get in touch to discuss a suitable starting point.
